Rubber Rubber prices decline as tyre firms keep off Our Correspondent
KOTTAYAM, May 19 RUBBER market declined mainly on account of the tyre sector's disinterest in buying. All the grades except latex concentrate made losses. Some of the traders' efforts in profit booking also wore down the market. The international market was steady at Rs 45.75 for RSS 3 in the Bangkok market, as on last Friday. The rates quoted on Monday were as follows: June delivery: Rs 50.89 per kg; July delivery: Rs 50.74 per kg and August delivery: Rs 49.04 per kg.In the spot market, sheet rubber RSS 4 moved down to Rs 48.50 on Monday from Rs 49 per kg on Saturday. RSS 5 declined to Rs 47.50 per kg from Rs 48 and ISNR-20 to Rs 46.50 from Rs 47.75. Ungraded rubber also fell, to Rs 46.50 from Rs 47 but latex concentrate remained steady at Rs 38 per kg.
