HYDERABAD, April 17

WHILE the senior State Congress leader, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has taken off with his unique `padayatra', covering 1,600 km in 11 districts under the sweltering summer heat to highlight the ground realities in the drought-affected areas, his friends have got together to spread his views and actions far wider through the virtual world and have launched a portal.

www.ysrportal.com is the brainwave of a group of friends of Dr Rajasekhara Reddy, some of whom are non-resident Indian's (NRIs), mostly based in the US. Termed the official Web site of Dr Reddy, it went live on April 9, coinciding with the launch of the `Praja Prasthanam' - the padayatra. The portal showcases the views of the Congress (I) leader on various issues. It also consists of his articles published in different newspapers.

Dr Reddy has set off on a 60-day campaign and has been drawing good response, especially in the districts where the drought situation is severe.
