NEW DELHI, April 10

THE Minister of State for Commerce, Mr Rajiv Pratap Rudy, has said that e-commerce is extremely important for addressing all aspects of commerce on a global platform and emphasised the need for public-private partnership.

Stating that connectivity was still an issue in the country, the Minister said that the Government was addressing all challenges of infrastructure, besides which important initiatives have been taken to reduce transaction costs. Mr Rudy was addressing a national conference on `Expanding exports through e-commerce', organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
