Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, Feb. 18

BHARTI TeleSonic Ltd, the long distance telecom arm of the Bharti group, has launched its `IndiaOne MeetXpress' audio-conferencing service.

According to an official statement from the company, based on the technology platform from Avaya (US), the service would provide enterprises national and international audio conferencing at affordable and competitive rates of Rs 4 per participant/per minute (local and long distance charges extra, as applicable).

The statement pointed out that audio conferencing was a growing market in India estimated at Rs 30 crore annually and the Bharti service would enable over 100 business executives based in different locations to simultaneously communicate through their mobile or landline phones.

For example, a national sales head can almost instantly set up a conference with his entire sales team spread out across the country, from his mobile while making a market visit to, say Raipur, and engage in discussions on new ideas and findings direct from the market.

"IndiaOne MeetXpress audio conferencing service comes with a host of power-packed features to make any business meeting truly productive. It can instantly conduct polls on any issue, conduct question and answer sessions, facilitate data sharing by uploading it on the IndiaOne

Web site, sub-conferencing in smaller groups and much more. On top of this, it also offers high reliability and confidentiality, backed

by top-class customer care service with a proven track record", the statement said.

With this service, customers can choose from `dial-in' and `dial-out' methods and `attended' or `unattended' conferences. With its `express dial-out' facility, simultaneously a large number of participants can be dialled out and invited into a conference.

In `attended' conferences, the customer has the facility to use the IndiaOne operator available on call for any help.

The audio conferencing service rides on IndiaOne's 20,000-km advanced fibre optic network nationally.

Highlighting the value of the new service, Mr N. Arjun, CEO, Bharti TeleSonic, said, "Enterprises can realise substantial savings on their travel and telecommunications costs using IndiaOne MeetXpress for their periodic reviews, sales conferences, project reviews, management discussions, press conferences, and analyst meets and other critical multi-locational activities. With this service, they will benefit significantly in terms of productivity gains."
