MUMBAI, Feb. 18

JALGAON town in Maharashtra, known for growing quality cotton, will host the next conference of all-India cotton trade associations to be held on February 23.

"Facilitating Consumer Satisfaction'' will be the theme of the meet, organised by the East India Cotton Association (EICA) and the Maharashtra Gin Press Karkhandar Sangh. There are a large number of ginning-pressing factories and spinning mills in Khandesh region of the State. The participants will visit market yards and ginning-pressing units for an interactive meeting with farmers, traders and processors.

According to Mr K.F. Jhunjhunwala, EICA President, the aim of the field visit is to impress upon players in the supply chain the need for reducing contamination in cotton, thereby improving quality.

Apart from crop review, the conference will discuss topics such as contract farming ; quantitative and qualitative requirements of consumer industry; building consumer satisfaction through research and development; and related issues.
