New Products & Services Tata Indigo launched in AP Our Bureau
HYDERABAD, Dec. 23 TATA Indigo, the latest offering from Tata Engineering in the midsize `C' segment cars has been officially launched in the Andhra Pradesh market. The car both in petrol and diesel version would be available in six colours (4 metallic) and black and white with the cost being Rs 4.32 lakh to Rs 4.92 lakh (3 petrol variants) and Rs 4.77 lakh to Rs 5.18 lakh in the two diesel versions. "The car has been competitively priced for the `C' segment market, which has Ikon, Corsa, Accent, Esteem and Sienna among others", said Mr S. Krishnan, General Manager Sales and Marketing, Passenger Car Business Unit, Tata Engineering. Hyderabad is a good market for the Tata brand vehicles and the city was one of the first to get the Tata Indica when it was launched a couple of years ago in the Indian market. The enquiries for the Indigo in the few days since its launch has shown phenomenal customer interest. With a market size of around 70,000 a year for this class of cars, Tata Engineering hoped to both get a good share and also expand the market, he said. The Indigo has been tested by the Motor Industries Research Association (MIRA), Birmingham, UK for its reliability and durability.
