PM to accept Abdullah's resignation

Our Bureau

KOLKATA, Dec. 19

THE Prime Minister, Mr A.B. Vajpayee, will formally accept the resignation of Mr Omar Abdullah from the post of the Union Minister of State for External Affairs, sometime next week.

It may be noted that Mr Abdullah resigned from the Union Ministry more than two months back, even before the Assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir.

Stating this here on Thursday, at a meeting organised by the Young Leaders Forum, the youth wing of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Mr Abdullah felt that Indians were losing valuable time as they were engrossed with Pakistan as seen in the Gujarat election.
