Fire at Chennai building

CHENNAI: The Chennai office of Nissho Iwai Corporation, a Japanese company that is involved in trading activities here, was gutted in a fire that broke out in a multi-storeyed office building in the city, police and fire department sources said.

Company officials could not be contacted. Some computers and office equipment were destroyed in the fire, which broke out in the fourth floor of the Karumuttu Centre on the arterial Anna Salai this afternoon. No one was injured, police said. They said that the Chennai office of Nissho Iwai Corporation was a liaison office for its trading operations.
