IOC's new locking system for tankers

Our Bureau

BANGALORE: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has come out with a custom-made locking system for tankers to ensure quality fuel to consumers and prevent pilferage and adulteration of fuels during transit.

The locking system was launched on Wednesday at IOC's Devanagonthi terminal, about 50 km from Bangalore. The locking system consists of a custom-made Godrej padlock, which comes with a reliable coding system on locks and keys. Each tank truck will be locked with six locks, which can be operated with a single key.

The six locks would be used for locking the manhole covers and discharge vales tank trucks carrying fuel from supply points to retail outlets. All the locks will be locked using a single master key at the supply point.
