RPG slashes roaming airtime rates

CHENNAI: RPG Cellular Services has reduced roaming airtime rates by 50 per cent from August 4.

Its subscribers can make and receive calls in most roaming locations in India for Rs 1.49 per minute instead of the current roaming airtime charges of Rs 3 per minute. SMS charges have also been reduced from Rs 3 per message to Rs 1.49 per message, according to an RPG Cellular press release.

It said that these rates would be available to subscribers who logged on to any of the friendly networks, which now include BPL Mobile in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mumbai and Maharashtra; Idea Cellular in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat; Hutch Cellular in Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka; Command in Kolkata; Fascel in Gujarat and Aircell Digilink in Haryana, Rajasthan and UP (East).
