Award for Kannada portal

BANGALORE: A Kannada literary portal kannadasahithya.com has topped the list of portals in the Google search engine in the Third World literature section.

The site ranks second in the Lycos and Microsoft Web ranking in the same category. The Web ranking is awarded taking into account the number of hits the site gets during a one-month period and the relevance of the contents of the site.

The site was launched with the novel Samskara and a few articles of Jnanpith award winner Dr U.R. Ananth Murthy. The Web site has seven novels of renowned writers like Dr Ananth Murthy, P. Lankesh and Chandrashekar Kambar and short stories from famous writers including Vivek Shanbhag and Mogalli Ganesh and poems from Gopalkrishna Adiga and G.S. Shivarudrappa.
