Brands Corporate - Alliances & Joint Ventures DuPont pact with Epcoat for Teflon car-care items Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, June 5 DUPONT has entered into its first brand licensing agreement for Teflon, a registered trademark, in India for consumer products. An agreement has been signed between DuPont and Mumbai-based Epcoat Surface Systems for the marketing of the Teflon brand car-care products in India. A statement issued by E.I. DuPont India said that it was also the first Teflon brand agreement in Asia-Pacific covering finished products and signals the start of the global licensing initiative by DuPont in the region. Under the royalty-based licensing agreement, DuPont will licence the brand to Epcoat to use on car-care products specified by DuPont, as well as provide Epcoat with the relevant marketing support. Through such licensing initiatives, DuPont aims to leverage the value of the Teflon brand beyond the traditional market of cookware applications.
