WiLL technology

It is but logical that the Supreme Court refused to stay the order allowing WiLL technology into the country.

Protection of one industry by barring the entry of another is the most absurd concept.

Were this token to be applied to other areas, then airline companies could ask for the banning of trains as it would hurt their business and investment, and whiskey-makers may demand a ban on cheaper liquor.

For various reasons, some applicable to the rich countries and some to the poor ones, WiLL may be the only viable solution, and fixed lines may just not be doable. This is because of:

a) Perennial theft of copper from telephone lines

b) Overcrowded places with no scope for laying cables

c) Hilly and marshy terrains

d) Sparsely populated areas, and

e) Harsh terrain and weather

In fact, over the next 2-4 years, many more new technologies are going to emerge.

The objective of the Government and industry should be to ensure that all of these are put into practical use in the country as soon as possible rather than looking at ways to keep them out.
