LIC policies

This refers to `As management fights for survival...SIV workers rush to close LIC policies' (Business Line, April 24). Efforts may be made to revive the company with assistance from the Government and cooperation of the employees.

However, if the company is permitted to lay-off, and will not be able to pay premium on policies of its employees, there may be policies that have not acquired any paid-up/surrender value.

The policy, being under salary savings scheme (SSS) and part of a large group, LIC should consider some special concession to these policies.
