Urea policy for Group of Ministers

NEW DELHI, March 8

THE Centre has decided to refer the formulation of policy parameters and norms for determining the retention prices of individual urea plants for the Seventh and Eight Pricing periods to a Group of Ministers headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Mr K.C. Pant.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Friday.

The Seventh pricing period extends from July 1, 1997 to March 31, 2000, while the Eighth pricing period extends from April 1, 2000 to March 31, 2003.
