Nabard sanctions Rs 713 cr for rural infrastructure

MUMBAI, Feb. 9

THE National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 713.94 crore towards the creation of rural infrastructure in 12 States, under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund VII.

With this the cumulative sanctions to 22 States have reached Rs 3,592.36 crore against the corpus of Rs 5,000 crore for RIDF-VII during 2001-02, said a press release.

The sanctions are targeted at projects like the Shishu Shiksha Kendra cum Anganwadi and primary schools in West Bengal, anganwadi centres and primary schools in Karnataka and rural drinking water supply in Andhra Pradesh and Haryana, the release said.
