KOCHI, Jan. 31

AS part of its efforts to increase the prices of rubber, the Kerala State Co-operative Rubber Marketing Federation Ltd (Rubbermark) has exported 1,500 tonnes of rubber so far.

Presently, Rubbermark is exporting 10 containers of rubber from its godowns on a weekly basis with the financial assistance from the Union and State Governments. Apart from this, the federation had bagged an order to export another 3,000 tonnes during February and March, the Rubbermark President, Mr Joseph Monippilly, said in a release.

He pointed out that the latex exports undertaken by the federation to European countries received a tremendous response from several companies and the federation had got an order to export 500 tonnes of latex. The procurement of rubber was going on at a faster pace and Rubbermark had procured around 6,000 tonnes so far meant for export, he added.
