NEW DELHI, Jan. 25

NEULAND Laboratories Ltd (NLL) has registered a growth in turnover and net profit for the third quarter of current fiscal year ended December 31, 2001.

While sales from operations were up at Rs 25.35 crore from Rs 22.37 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, the other income was up at Rs 47.65 lakh (Rs 3.51 lakh) and net profit increased to Rs 1.07 crore (Rs 97.14 lakh) on an equity of Rs 5.38 crore, yielding an EPS of Rs 1.86 (Rs 1.58).

For the quarter under review, the company incurred an expenditure of Rs 22.13 crore (Rs 19.36 crore) and provided Rs 1.73 crore towards interest and other charges (Rs 1.48 crore), Rs 80.81 lakh towards depreciation (Rs 59.7 lakh) and Rs 8.5 lakh towards taxation as against no such provision in the corresponding quarter.

For the nine months period ended December 31, 2001, NLL achieved a turnover of Rs 75.92 crore (Rs 63.14 crore) and a net profit of Rs 3.19 crore (Rs 2.83 crore), yielding an EPS of Rs 5.53 (Rs 4.6).
