Events IndiaSoft to woo Third World Our Bureau
HYDERABAD, Jan. 25 INDIASOFT 2002, the three-day international exhibition and conferences being organised by the Electronics and Computer Software Promotion Council (ESC) at New Delhi from February 20, would put in place an innovative programme called `hosted buyers' to attract large participation from the developing countries. Addressing a gathering of software industry representatives and IT enabled service providers at a Road Show here on Thursday, the ESC Executive Director, Mr D.K. Sareen, said under `hosted buyers' programme, ESC would pick up the expenses of some carefully chosen delegates from the developing countries to attend the three-day exhibition and conferences. "The underlying premise is that this would help in widening the IT export base of India since each hosted delegate, in future, can be expected to be a client or a facilitator for marketing India's IT capabilities,'' Mr Sareen said. According to him, IndiaSoft 2002 would showcase, among others, the country's IT outsourcing capabilities. The industry segments on display include business services, communications, entertainment, finance, banking, manufacturing, oil, gas and mining and education. The focus of the exhibition would be more on IT enabled services such as back office operations, remote billing, e-commerce, call centres, data warehousing, management and processing, business process outsourcing and ERP solutions, Mr Sareen said.
