Royal Jordanian to increase services from Kolkata

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, Jan. 25

THE Government has given permission to the national carrier of Jordan, Royal Jordanian, to increase the frequency of its flights on the Kolkata-Amman sector from once-a-week to twice-a-week.

This was agreed at the conclusion of the bilateral air services talks between officials of the two countries here.

This is the second air services bilateral agreement, which the Indian Government has concluded since the beginning of the year.

Earlier, the Indian Government allowed the Iran-based Mahan Air, to start a thrice a week service between Delhi and Tehran.

The bilateral agreement with Iran was significant as two of the three weekly flights will operate through Kabul thereby providing a direct air link between India and Afghanistan.
