Navision to invest $8 m to boost marketing

Vishwanath Kulkarni

BANGALORE, Jan. 24

NAVISION Software India Pvt Ltd is planning to invest about $8 million this year to strengthen its marketing set-up in the country. The investments would be in building partnerships and training 3,000 representatives of its solution centre partners, said Mr Yash Nagpal, Managing Director, Navision India.

The company is an exclusive distributor of Navision Denmark's business management solutions in India. Navision India has localised `Navision Attain' for the Indian market at its development centre at Gurgaon.

It planned to introduce additional localised modules of ERP, SCM, CRM, HR, payroll, financials and e-commerce solutions in the Indian market, he said.

Navision India intends to target the SMEs with its business management solutions.

It has tied up with some 30 solutions centres which are system integrators, value-added resellers and consultants to expand its reach in the Indian market.

"We are looking at partnering with some 70 more solutions providers this year,'' he added.

"We are looking at a revenue of $20 million from the Indian market by 2004,'' Mr Nagpal said. The company, which started its marketing operations in India in November, currently has a client base of some five companies. This was expected to go up to 30 by March, he said.

Navision, which currently has a team of some 33 people, expects to raise its strength to 100 by the year-end.

It intends to add some 30 more developers to the existing team of 20 developers.
