IOC seeks review of pact with RPL

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, Dec. 12

INDIAN Oil Corporation (IOC) officials on Wednesday met the Petroleum Minister, Mr Ram Naik, seeking a review of an earlier agreement under which it was to pick up the entire produce of controlled petroleum products from Reliance Petroleum Ltd from April 1, 2002, Ministry sources said.

In a meeting with Mr Naik, IOC officials said, the take or pay clause of its agreement with Reliance Petroleum should also be reviewed, creating a roadblock for the joint venture agreement.

Under an earlier agreement, IOC was committed to take the entire produce of controlled products - petrol, kerosene, liquefied petroleum gas, diesel - from Reliance Petroleum once the administered pricing mechanism is removed from the proposed date of April 1, 2002.
