AP broiler farmers oppose integration system
BROILERfarmers of Andhra Pradesh have opposed the `integration system' in the poultry sector, already in vogue in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and ``threatening to make inroads into Andhra Pradesh as well''. They have called for a 25 per cent reduction in br ooding capacity to overcome the current crisis in the market.

H1 spices export declines
SPICES exports during the first half of the current fiscal have dropped by Rs 165.63 crore compared to the same period a year ago..

Cotton output likely to touch 160 lakh bales
DESPITE the unprecedented damage due to boll worm infestation in the northern cotton crop, the all-India cotton production estimate for the 2001-02 season is expected to touch the 160-lakh bale mark.

Shrimp prices stabilise
AFTER a severe slide, black tiger shrimp prices in the last few weeks have picked up and appear to have stabilised at $9.50 per kg 16/20 counts. However, major contracts are not being concluded as the larger Japanese importers continue to maintain a low profile, say market sources.
