Jet Airways cuts fares

NEW DELHI, Sept. 26

JET Airways has announced that while its present special fares will continue on some of the sectors, fares on a few others have been rationalised resulting in marginal reduction on these sectors from October 1.

In a statement, the airline has said with rationalisation of fares, travel on many sectors would effect a saving of Rs 80-600 on one-way air travel. Besides, the point-to-point fares for long-distance travel have also been rationalised resulting in reduc tion ranging from Rs 200-300. However, the dollar fare for travel on the airlines remains unchanged.

The airline has also announced that the special excursion fares between Delhi-Mumbai for both business and economy class would continue till further notice.

However, the airlines has said there would be three more economy class excursion fares, which would be valid for travel in economy class only.

The economy class excursion fare for travel between Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai will be Rs 11,745, Delhi-Bangalore-Delhi will be Rs 15,540 and between Delhi-Lucknow-Delhi Rs 5,370. The validity of the excursion fares for travel will be two months fr om the date of the commencement of the journey.

The Chennai-Mumbai economy fare has dropped to Rs 4,500 from Rs 5,370, the Chennai-Coimbatore has dropped from Rs 3,080 to Rs 2,820 and the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram from Rs 3,915 to Rs 3,575, adds our Chennai Bureau.
