CTCs rule easy at Guwahati sale
Our Bureau
GUWAHATI, Sept. 26
THERE was better demand for CTC categories at Guwahati this week which eased with the progress of sale. Except for brighter Assam brokens, which continued to sell well, the remainder witnessed an irregularly lower market following quality.
Medium Assam brokens and non-liquoring fannings met with limited demand and were often neglected. Cachar brokens sold readily at lower levels.
The major blender operated with fair strength on the liquoring varieties with fair support from Tata Tea and Eveready while Duncans entered the market for medium varieties. Western India markets were selective while other internal segments were more rest
ricted in their purchases in the medium category. North India markets operated for cleaner leaf cachar at lower levels while CIS and Polish shippers lent fair support for larger brokens.
The dust market met with very selective demand. With the exception of selected better liquoring dusts and secondaries which were competed, the remainder met with very restricted enquiry at substantially lower levels and were largely neglected.
The major blender, Hindustan Lever, Tata Tea and Western India buyers operated on liquoring dusts. Other internal buyers were subdued.
