BIS ready with norms on 50 kg jute bags for sugar
THE Bureau of Industrial Standards (BIS) will soon notify specifications for packing of sugar in 50 kg jute bags. Once the notification is done, the Government will suitably amend the Sugar (Packing and Marking) Order, 1970, and the industry will be aske d to pack sugar in 50-kg jute bags, according to the Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs and Food, Mr V. Srinivasa Prasad.
