Call for more trade with Mauritius

NEW DELHI, May 1

THE Minister for Heavy Industry and Public Enterprises (MoHIPE), Mr Manohar Joshi, has called for increased bilateral cooperation between India and Mauritius.

Mr Joshi, who is on an official visit to Mauritius, said that the areas for heightened cooperation were hotel and tourism, power generation equipment, textiles and clothing, sugarcane by-products and information technology.

Mr Joshi was speaking at an official banquet hosted by the Mauritius Minister of Industry, Commerce and International Trade, Mr Jaya Krishan Cuttaree.

The Indian side expressed satisfaction over the expanding bilateral trade and investment between the two countries which currently stands at around Rs 480 crore.
