12 Bills passed in Budget session

NEW DELHI, May 1

OUT of the 20 Bills introduced during the Budget Session of Parliament, 12 were passed. Besides, four Bills that were sent to Parliament could not be introduced following consecutive disruption of the proceedings of the Houses.

According to an official release, the 12 Bills that were passed are: the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2001; the Appropriation (Railways) Vote on Account Bill, 2001; the Appropriation (Railways) Bill, 2001; the Appropriation (Vote on Account) Bill, 200 1; the Appropriation Bill, 2001; the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotrophic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2001; the Chit Funds (Amendment) Bill, 2001; the Insurance Laws (Transfer of Business and Emergency Provisions) Repeal Bill, 2001; the Colonial Prisoner's Removal (Repeal) Bill, 2001; Finance Bill, 2001; the Appropriation (Railways) No.2 Bill, 2001; and the Appropriation (No.2) Bill, 2001.
