Some medium powdery CTCs were steady to occasionally dearer by Rs 1-2, while others remained barely steady, often tending to be easier. Low priced bolder CTCs witnessed good demand from exporters.

The best CTC varieties commanded prices between Rs 45 and Rs 65, medium CTC realised Rs 35-43 and poorer type were quoted at Rs 27-32. Highgrown BOPD fetched prices between Rs 90 and Rs 91, medium BOPD realised Rs 26-30. Secondaries and residuals were qu oted at Rs 20-25 and Rs 16-20, respectively.

However, there was only a fair general demand in leaf sale and the quantity on offer was 6,83,000 kg. The market was generally easier between Re 1 and Rs 2, while some well made medium bolder grades remained steady. CTC smaller types was steady to someti mes dearer, while others tended to ease. Though the exporters were selective on orthodox grades, they absorbed smaller CTCs.

The best Nilgiri varieties commanded prices between Rs 53 and Rs 67, medium orthodox Rs 40-62 and plain orthodox Rs 32-45. The best CTC leaf fetched prices between Rs 36 and Rs 42, while medium CTC leaf realised Rs 31-36.
