Aptech arm in pact with Australian co

MUMBAI, Nov. 22
ASSET International, the high-end technology training arm of Aptech Ltd and Australian IT Careers Institute (AITCI), have joined hands to launch an international course in ecommerce and information technology.
The training, encompassing industry-based project learning in teams and individually, will commence in India and will eventually reach completiton in Australia. The course offers ecommerce course from Asset and diploma certificate in information technolo
gy - software development from AITCI in Australia. After completion, the students get three certificates, one each from Aptech, AITCI and jointly by Aptech-AITCI and help them getting jobs.
The courses are career-focussed and the alliance between Asset and AITCI redefines the way conventional training courses are conducted. The course fee is Rs 1 lakh for training in India and $ 12,500 for the Australian part of the course.
Aptech aims to increase its revenue by over Rs 5 crore from training courses offered through this alliance. Aptech aims to be a Rs 1,000-crore company by December 2002.
The Aptech Managing Director & CEO, Mr Ganesh Natarajan, at a formal launch function, said that there were large opportunities available in the field of IT in India and abroad. ``The alliance will help students in India to get prepared for international
career opportunities," Mr Natarajan said.
The AITCI General Manager, Mr Jim Doumakis, that with this partnership, it was hoped to capture a sizable student market share and offer students an opportunity to work on global projects.
