Seminar on natural resource management
GUWAHATI: A national seminar on `Natural Resource Management and Sustainable Development' under the auspices of the Department of Culture, and Khadi and Village Industries Commission has been inaugurated here by the Governor of the State, Lt Gen (Retd)
S.K. Sinha.
The 3-day seminar is one of the six being held in the country as a part of Republic-50 celebrations. The coordinator of the fixture here is IIT, Guwahati. Eminent environmentalist, Dr S.L. Bahuguna, social activist, Mr Anna Hazare, Social worker from Nag
aland, Mr Natwar Thakkar, and representatives from various parts of the northeast are participating in it.
Inaugurating the seminar, the Governor said that population explosion in the country was posing the most serious problem to management of natural resources. He hoped that the seminar would also focus on mitigation of man-made pollution besides addressing
