ITI bags BSNL switches order

BANGALORE, Nov. 22
ITI, the public sector telecom equipment major, has bagged an order valued at Rs 175 crore for supplying the 500 kilo lines C-DOT MAX-XL switches to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL). ITI emerged as the lowest bid in the recently concluded tender of BSNL a
midst stiff competition from makers of digital exchanges.
MAX-XL is the indigenously designed digital exchange developed by C-DOT to suit Indian conditions, up to a capacity of 40,000 lines. IT has special in-built features such as CCS-7, ISDN CLIP _ a 20 digit numbering scheme for ISD calls, different STD and
ISD counters for revenue metering CAMA functions,says a company release here.
ITI, is the lead manufacturer of C-DOT MAX-XL exchanges and its first 40,000 lines capacity exchange was installed at Indiranagar (Bangalore) in 1997.
