BHEL bags Rs 66-cr NTPC order for tranformers

NEW DELHI, Oct. 29

BHARAT Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has bagged a Rs 66-crore order from National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for supply of power transformers.

The equipment will be used for NTPC's 2000 MW Talcher super thermal power project (Stage II) in Orissa.

According to an official release, the scope of work envisages complete design, manufacture, testing, erection and commissioning of 24 power transformers of 3,260 MVA capacity rating. The transformers will be manufactured at BHEL's Bhopal and Jhansi plant s.
