HYDERABAD, Aug. 13

TATA Teleservices Ltd, the private basic telephone service provider, has launched two new money saver schemes -- Call More Save More and Wireline Super Economy.

The company has designed the schemes to benefit both existing as well as new Tata Teleservices phone users, with considerable reduction in the money spent on their telephone.

Mr. N. Srinath, Chief Operating Officer, Tata Teleservices, said: ``The latest initiatives by the company aim to improve customer value through enhanced service benefits and savings.''

He added: ``Integrated communication tools that support Internet connectivity is where the world of convergence is headed. These schemes are aimed to meet customer expectations.''

Under the Call More Save More scheme, customers can avail themselves of a discount on the total billing amount for any Tata Teleservices phone connection in the range of 3-5 per cent.

Minimum billing amount for a three per cent reduction is Rs. 2,500 and for a five per cent reduction it is Rs. 5,000. And for those customers with a calling spend of more than Rs. 50,000, an additional discount of three per cent on the total calling spen d is being offered.

With the new Wireline Super Economy Package, a customer can get a new wireline connection for a deposit of Rs. 1,000 in areas where Tata Teleservices has wireline coverage.

The package offers a new connection with local, STD and ISD services at a substantially lower deposit to the customer where he saves upto Rs. 2,000 on deposit. Both the schemes are valid till December 31, 2000.

The wireline connections are offered using a combination of optical fibre cables and copper technology. These wireline connections support Internet access, high speed data transmission, can be upgraded to ISDN lines and used for faxes.
