Wipro bags `PC Quest' awards

BANGALORE: Wipro has bagged the PC Quest's User's Choice Awards, 2000, in the home and office PC segment.

It has stolen a march over Compaq, which was last year's winner in the office PC category and has replaced the assembler segment, which was the last year's choice for the home PC segment.

The other winners included Norton for best anti-virus software, Nokia as preferred cellphone and Tally for accounting software.

Samsung was chosen by the users for monitors, TVSE for the dot matrix printer category, IBM in the server category, Compaq for notebooks, HP for workstations, laser printers and larger format printers.

Rediff.com bagged the award in the Web-computing category for the preferred Indian search site. It shared the best Indian portal award with 123India.com. -- Our Bureau
