PUNE, August, 13

LOTS of music, games, fun and frolic and a designer car to ogle at. Puneiites, who were invited to car manufacturer Ford India's Pune dealership, Talera Ford, ended up experiencing a carnival of a different kind this weekend when the compa ny unveiled its latest offering for the Indian market, desinger cars from designer Dilip Chhabria.

The roadshow, part of the company's pre-production strategy to get feedback from prospective customers, will see the latest cars from Ford India travelling across the country and being displayed at its 37 dealerships. `` The idea is to invite as many cus tomers and prospective customers as possible into the showroom to touch and feel the car and tell us what they are looking for in a car'', says Talera Ford Director Pramod Talera . `` The company will take a decision about going into commercial productio n only after it has compiled customer feedback on the car'', he adds.

Car lovers in Pune feasted their eyes on the IKONcept 2003, an open , two-seat tourer with plush leather interiors, 17" wheels and low styling, with a wider and shorter body . The IKON GT, meanwhile, boasts of features such as a GSP-based navigator syste m, leather bracket seats, an Alpine entertainment system with VCD and pop-up television.

Meanwhile, Talera Automobiles have added their own bit of `josh' to the carnival, by offering auto enthusiasts a completely innovative coat of paint to their dream cars. The company is now offering a fully loaded version of the 1.6 Zxi model of the IKON with Dupont's Chromalusion paint, a speciality product that gives the illusion of eight different shades for a car, from different angles and different intensities of light. Mr. Talera said eight different shades of the paint are being offered to custome rs as a value addition to the car.

The car itself comes with leather seats and steering wheel, rear spoilers, side skirts, exhaust trim, alloy wheels with Michelin tyres and a Blaupunkt Chicago sound system with 6CD changer with steering remote.
