Satyam, Exterprise in marketing pact

HYDERABAD, June 5

SATYAM Computer Services Ltd, and the Texas-based Exterprise Inc, a major provider of collaboration platform software for e-markets, on Monday announced a global alliance to provide e-market solutions for traditional businesses and dotcom companies world wide.

The two together plan to deliver e-market management solutions that enable businesses and their trading partners to share processes, revenues and costs to promote, sell and support complementary products and services via an e-market network, based on Ext erprise's ActiveMarket software platform.

ActiveMarket is Exterprise's collaboration software platform that enables companies to build dynamic marketplaces in conjugation with trading partners and buying communities on the Internet.

The Managing Director of Satyam Computer, Mr. B. Rama Raju, said: ``Our association with Exterprise will provide us with a flexible, end-to-end solution for customers interested in realising the value of e-markets.''

The President and Chief Executive Officer of Exterprise, Mr. Manoj Saxena, said Satyam's technical competencies and Exterprise's software for collaborative e-business solutions will provide companies with the information needed to compete in the new econ omy. This will help tap the potential for the e-business solutions market.

This alliance combines Exterprise's ActiveMarket software platform and Satyam's IT solution delivery capability in the markets of North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.

As a part of this initiative, Satyam will train over 500 consulting associates worldwide on ActiveMarket. The alliance partners plan to open demonstration and sales training centres in these markets to train the sales force on ActiveMarket and also deplo y joint marketing and sales programmes worldwide.

Exterprise's flagship product -- ActiveMarket -- in conjugation with its trading partners, employs a collaborative agent technology to enable market makers and companies to build and manage dynamic e-markets to promote, sell and support value-ba sed products and services.
