Electronic, software exports to UAE at Rs 143 crores
INDIA'S electronics and computer software exports to the UAE for the 1999-2000 fiscal has been estimated at Rs. 143 crores, and strategy-driven promotion programmes will be launched in West Asia by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion C ouncil (ESC) in the near future, according to an ESC spokesman. ESC is an autonomous body under the Indian Ministry of Information Technology.

Satyam, Exterprise in marketing pact
SATYAM Computer Services Ltd, and the Texas-based Exterprise Inc, a major provider of collaboration platform software for e-markets, on Monday announced a global alliance to provide e-market solutions for traditional businesses and dotcom companies world wide.

WAP still finding its feet in India
WIRELESS application protocol (WAP), the new age technology that provides instant connectivity, anytime, anywhere, may not take off in India for at least another year, according to experts.

VinCom unit in India
CHENNAI: ``VinCom Inc, a US-based software services company having offices in Minnesota and Michigan, has set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in Coimbatore.

AirTel plans 4,000 km optic fibre network
BHARTI Mobile Ltd, a joint venture of Bharti Enterprises and Telia, has outlined AirTel's growth plans. It plans to invest over Rs. 1,000 crores in Andhra Pradesh. This includes the laying of 4,000 km of fibre optic cable network. The JTM brand has now b ecome AirTel.
