Kaashyap Radiant in eBuy tie-up with LG Soft India

CALCUTTA, Jan. 18
KAASHYAP Radiant Systems Ltd has tied up with LG Soft India to operate as an e-commerce service provider. The idea is to use LG Soft's e-commerce service bureau _ eBuy services.
Kaashyap Radiant, a joint venture between the Ram Kaashyap group and Radiant Systems Inc, will offer to small business entrepreneurs what the company's Managing Director, Mr. A Venkataramani, calls a ``unique proposal.'' eBuy services will include buyer
registration, credit card verification, payment process and customer service, among others.
The company will enable the first 50 companies in the small and medium sector go online free. It will also design their Web sites and offer special rates for eBuy services. The package includes Web site hosting as well.
The small business segment would be offered total enterprise solutions, Mr. Venkataramani said on the occasion of the launch of the company's resource centre of electronic commerce in Calcutta. The centre would offer computer and engineering professional
s a one-year e-commerce programme.
Kaashyap Radiant has proposed to complete 200 sites by March this year and some 1,000 sites by March, 2001. Among the sites developed by the company are www.gotheatres.com (for theatre booking), www.meetvirtual.com (for broadcasting and distance learning
) and www.yesgroceries.com (an online home shopping network). It has also developed a number of client sites.
According to Mr. Venkataramani, consultants from Radiant Systems of the US have been developing IT expertise for various corporate groups. The tie-up with Radiant has helped the Indian joint venture to develop the resources necessary to tap emerging area
s like consultancy services in business solutions.
The company, which has offices in the US, Europe and West Asia (Saudi Arabia), proposes to open new ones in Australia, New Zealand, Bahrain and Kuwait.
