Report on reservoir stimulation released
Our Bureau
MUMBAI, Jan. 18
OIL and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd has released a report on reservoir stimulation prepared by the Institute of Oil and Gas production, a press release said.
The ONGC Chairman, Mr. B.C. Bora, released the report at an international conference and exhibition on `well stimulation technology' at the institute's campus in Panvel. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bora said that well stimulation and enhancing producti
vity is very important to increase production from existing oil fields.
Today, ONGC produces about 26 million tonnes of oil and sells more than 18 billion cubic metres of gas. If the production is increased even by one per cent by proper well stimulation, it will save a lot of foreign exchange to the nation, he added.
The report was prepared by the Institute of Oil and Gas Production Technology in association with reservoir, geology, logging and chemistry divisions of ONGC. The report has been accepted by technical experts for implementation, which is an endorsement o
f the technical capability of the institute, the release said.
