Crude output in April-Dec 1999 drops 0.4%

NEW DELHI, Jan. 18

THE crude oil production during April-December 1999 at 24.85 million tonnes (MT) was 0.4 per cent lower than the production registered during the corresponding period in the previous year.

According to an official release, the April-December 1999, crude production is 2.3 per cent lower than the targeted production estimate.

In Gujarat, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) achieved 90.5 per cent production owing to reasons such inadequate power supply from Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB).

In case of Assam, ONGC achieved 84.4 per cent production due to ``social environment issues''.

In the case of refinery production, the production during April-December 1999, at 61.06 MT was 87.7 per cent of the planned target.
